Sandbox Mode

What is Sandbox Mode?

Sandbox mode lets you explore Scamallteoir's features using representative demo data, without needing to connect your real cloud accounts. It's perfect for evaluating the product before committing your credentials.

How It Works

When sandbox mode is enabled:

• Demo AWS and Azure cost data is loaded into your account
• The dashboard displays 30 days of realistic cost trends
• Anomaly detection works on the demo data, showing example alerts
• Email and Slack notifications use demo data (clearly marked)

Visual Indicators

When sandbox mode is active, you'll always know:

• An amber banner appears at the top of every page
• Email reports include a "Demo data" footer
• Slack messages include a sandbox indicator

Data Isolation

Sandbox data is completely separate from any real cloud data you may have connected. Enabling or disabling sandbox mode will never affect your real cost data or cloud credentials.

Enabling Sandbox Mode

1. Go to Settings
2. Find the Data Source section
3. Click Enable Sandbox
4. Confirm in the modal

Disabling Sandbox Mode

When you're ready to use real data:

1. Go to Settings
2. Click Disable Sandbox
3. If you have cloud accounts connected, your real data will appear immediately
4. If not, you'll be prompted to connect AWS or Azure
